VILLA V_023

Our clients had long been looking for a summer home close to the city but with the feel of a country house. They chose this old rural farmhouse in the Partanna Mondello plain in Palermo, which had miraculously retained a large plot of land offering views of the mountains surrounding Palermo.

The ground-floor layout, arranged along an enfilade, was left unchanged and ends in a small courtyard created from an original cistern. The tufa blocks were left exposed and paired with lava stone. A swimming pool aligned with the length of the house completes the view towards the plot boundary, its surface reflecting the vegetation and mountains.

The project reworked the interior layout, starting with the staircase, which was moved to a central position. The stairs lead to a double-height landing above the dining area, with two bedrooms and bathrooms arranged on either side.
