Mazara del Vallo Bus Terminal

The project is part of a series of initiatives promoted by the municipal administration of Mazara del Vallo to improve road connections and intermodal transport. Its ambition is to create a place with a renewed identity of its own, capable of serving as a catalyst for urban regeneration in the surrounding degraded area.

The project aims to create a place with a renewed identity of its own, capable of acting as a catalyst for urban regeneration in the surrounding run-down area. The design takes the form of a large “L” that welcomes buses arriving from the suburbs and heading into the city. It is composed of two elements: the first houses the terminal itself, with a canopy covering buses in transit, as well as the waiting room and ticket offices; the second, with the same footprint but lower in height, accommodates station amenities: a bar, an information point and a small newsstand.
