The Trapani waterfront regeneration project takes its cues from the competition brief, proposing a range of solutions, all aimed at enhancing the relationship between Trapani and its port waterfront. Public spaces and a mix of uses within the small buildings define the proposal. The fish market area is covered by a large roof that, like a ship’s hull, shelters the fish stalls from the sun. The T-shaped pier where the maritime terminal stands has been redesigned in line with the street grid. The terminal is conceived as partially underground, with a large park alongside it.
