Casa C_023

This small penthouse was designed as a second home for a young couple who do not live in the city permanently. The project involved a new layout for the interior spaces, enhancing the living area and reorganising the sleeping area and the location of the bathrooms.

The apartment retains some of the original features designed by Professor Acierno, a mentor to many architects and a much-missed lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture in Palermo.

The project involved collaboration with local craftspeople, particularly metalworkers, carpenters and stonemasons, in keeping with the teachings of architect Acierno, whose work drew on the finest of Palermo’s craftspeople.
